Born on December 18, 1953, in Barstow, California, Karin was raised in Riverside, where she built the strong roots and lasting friendships that shaped her life. She carried that warmth and loyalty with her wherever she went.
Karin is survived by her devoted wife of 42 years, Sara Fishman, and their treasured Maltese, Addie, who brought her endless joy. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Milan of Riverside; her sister, Robin, and Robin’s partner, Steve Wing, of Escondido; her niece and nephews, Jennifer Reder, Thomas, and Morgan; and many dear friends who were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Elodie, and her sister-in-law, Marianne.
After 37 years of dedicated service as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician with the County of Riverside, Karin retired with pride. She specialized in medication services and cared deeply about the well-being of those she served. Her steady presence, compassion, and professionalism made a lasting difference in many lives.
Karin’s beautiful smile could light up any room. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and she especially cherished time spent socializing with friends and neighbors. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or quiet moments, she created connections that will endure far beyond her years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Four Seasons Tails and Trails in Beaumont, in honor of Karin’s love for animals.
Karin will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
