PETER GRINCERI (PETE) was born in his childhood home at 53 Devonshire St, Providence, Rhode Island on April 30, 1932. He was the oldest of six children born to Antonio and Mary Grinceri. Peter passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2023.
He leaves behind his wife Marie of 65 years, two of his four children, Christina Grinceri and Antonio Grinceri, his sisters Marie Plotner, Grace Grinceri, brother Sam Grinceri, grandchildren Michael Rodriguez, Peter Rodriguez, and Brianna Parrish.
Pete's first job was peeling a cellar full of onions for 25 cents back in 1940. He moved up to shining shoes for 10 cents a pair. Pete served in the United States Navy and was a barber for 72 of his 91 years. His barbershop was the longest running business in Ontario California’s history. Because he loved telling and listening to stories, he loved his job and he always had the best stories.
Pete was a Sun Lakes Banning, CA resident for over 20 years. He played Bocce, gave haircuts in his garage barbershop, and played pinochle up until one month before his passing. He loved his community and all the many friendships he cultivated there throughout the years. Everyone who knew Pete loved him. He had the best sense of humor and we are all so fortunate to have known him.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial held at Sun Lakes Country Club Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Jan. 26 at 1 pm. 850 Country Club Drive Banning, CA 92220
