Because of his father’s position with Pan American World Airways (Pan Am), Ramsey spent much of his childhood traveling extensively. Due to the civil war in Lebanon, Ramsey and his family moved to Liberia before eventually immigrating to the United States when he was 10 years old.
Knowing very little English, Ramsey began attending elementary school in Santa Monica, California. He loved reminiscing on funny stories he gained, about the difficulties of learning English, with his daughter. His appreciation for the English language led to his life-long love of puns, word play, and dad jokes. By the time he graduated from Santa Monica High School, Ramsey had mastered the English language and spoke without an accent. He then went on to graduate from Loyola Marymount University (LMU), in Westchester, California, with his Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Ramsey began his federal career with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) while still a student at LMU. While working at the VA he met and married Danielle Watkins Korban. They were together over 15 years and share Ramsey’s only child Zoë. His marriage to Danielle ended in divorce in the winter of 2013.
Ramsey left the VA to become a Special Agent with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), which after September 11, 2001 eventually became Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Ramsey enjoyed his work as a law enforcement officer, and was proud of the work he accomplished. After more than 20 years as a federal Special Agent, Ramsey retired in March 2020.
In 2015 Ramsey married Anabelle “Ana” Rojas, and they were together until his untimely passing. Upon marrying, Ramsey became the step-father to Nicole and Natalie Rojas.
Ramsey was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing with his family. He especially enjoyed teaching his daughter, Zoë, everything he loved about nature, hunting, and fishing. Ramsey was a life-long animal-lover, and relished in training his many dogs for hunting over the years.
Ramsey is survived by his parents, Fouad and Souad Korban of Sedona, AZ; his only child Zoë Korban of Phoenix, AZ; his brothers Raja Korban and wife Tracy of Columbus, OH, and Marwan Korban and wife Rebecca of Los Angeles, CA; Ramsey’s current wife Ana Korban of Beaumont, CA; her children Nicole Rojas and Natalie Rojas; and her grandson Luke Rodriguez. Ramsey is also survived by his beloved relatives in the Korban, Daher, and Harb Families, as well as many other relatives throughout the world.
