Richard Earl Buckner

Richard attended schools in Riverside, California. After graduating in 1959, he joined the U.S. Navy and served overseas for 4 years. Richard also attended classes at Mt. San Jacinto College. After his discharge from the Navy, Richard joined the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. He retired after 30 years in 1997. Richard returned to the Sheriff Academy and helped to train the new recruits. He also belonged to the Riverside County Sheriff's Posse Association for a number of years.

Richard restored old cars as a hobby. He loved to brag about all of his trophies, some 230 of them.

Richard is survived by his wife Ledora of Beaumont, California; daughter Cheryl Buckner of Hemet, California; son Robert Ellis of Beaumont, California and sister Barbara Kesterson of Tennessee. He is also survived by his aunt Bonnie Granger of Hemet, California; cousin Grace Kidwell of Rancho Cucamonga, California; niece Michelle Scott and nephew David Wenple, both of Hemet, California.Richard was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Virginia Buckner and a baby sister Cheryl Renee Buckner.

Richard will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Visitation Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Funeral service Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 10:00am, at First Assembly of God Church, 1166 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Avenue, Beaumont, California.
