

Robert was born in Denver, Colorado on January 25, 1930, and peacefully passed away in Banning, California on February 11, 2012, surrounded by family. Robert had just celebrated his 82nd birthday.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii during the Korean War, where he met the love of his life, Norma, his wife of 55-1/2 wonderful, joy-filled years. Robert spent the majority of his adult years in Southern California. Robert was self-employed with the Times Mirror, and then later with the Los Angeles Times. He eventually was successful in real estate development. Bob enjoyed boating, camping, and cross country trips with his family in their motor-home. Bob was always searching for the next fun vacation spot.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Anson and Jessie Menke, and sister, Geraldine Love. He is survived by his wife, Norma; their children Bruce Menke (Cathy), Babette Breisacher (Robert), and Cynthia Bampton (Peter), and his daughter, Cindie Braun (Jim), as well as grandchildren Jessica Haynes (Ryan), Lisa Owen, Ryan Menke, Lindsay Braun, and Chad Braun (Meghan).
Robert will be remembered for his kind heart and fun-filled attitude. He has been a mentor to many and we will always cherish the wisdom, love and courage which he showed and passed on to each one of us.
A graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
