Dr. Thomas George Ryan

Dr. Thomas G. Ryan, 76, passed away of natural causes on March 25, 2014 at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, California. Thomas, born in Dubuque, Iowa in 1937, was a Research Scientist for the U.S. Department of Energy until he retired in 2000. He spent his retirement years indulging in his love of reading, golf, and genealogy. Thomas had been a resident of the Plantation on the Lake Senior Community in Calimesa, California since 2006. Thomas, a devout Catholic, was an active member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Community in Beaumont, California. He made a pilgrimage to the Abbey of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity monastery in Huntsville, Utah on an annual basis. At the time of his death, Thomas was in the midst of documenting the history of the monastery.

Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia. Thomas is survived by four children: Laura A. Crivello (Frank) of La Mesa, California, Susan M. Lewis (Leon) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Christopher R. Ryan (Jayna) of Sparks, Nevada and Brooke D. Kittel (Greg) of Draper, Utah. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
