

Warren Lee Klein, 81, from Banning went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 21, 2016. He died from complications of a stroke. Warren was born on November 24, 1934 in McCook, Nebraska to Emanuel and Anna Abbey (Belknap) Klein. He was the oldest of two children.
The family moved to central California when he was two years old. Not long after that they moved to southern California where they lived in many cities including Gardena, Lawndale, and Inglewood. In 1951 the family moved to Beaumont. Warren graduated from Beaumont High School with the class of 1952.
He began working for the Beaumont Post Office in his senior year of high school and continued there until he retired in 1989. He loved his route in rural Cherry Valley where he delivered mail for 29 years. Warren was a member of the California National Guard in Banning where he retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In 1957 Warren married Sharon Kay Wilson, who graduated from Banning High School the same week. From this union of 33 years came three daughters, Bridget, Lisa, and Gina. They enjoyed many family vacations traveling with their 21’ Shasta trailer which included two trips to the East coast in addition to many vacations on various California beaches. Warren is predeceased by his parents, sister, Bernetta Dale De Paola, his nephew Richard Dale, and his niece Lynette Dale. He leaves his wife of almost 19 years, Elizabeth Gloria Klein, stepmother Gladys Klein, his three daughters Bridget (Patrick) Moorhead, Lisa (Stephen) Weeks, Gina (Bill) Gartner; nine grandchildren Brianna and Blake Moorhead, Jared, Sarah, Jenna, and Michael Weeks, and William, Alex, and Ellarie Gartner. He also leaves three stepchildren Rusty (Tina) Garner, Valoree (John) Longo, and Michael (Heather) Garner; six step grandchildren John (Samantha) Garner, Alisa (Tim) Prussia, Amanda (Brandon) Archuletta, Arianna and Michael Garner, Melissa (Terry) Lockery, Michelle Nelson, and Samantha (Paul) O’Hanlon; 11 step great-grandchildren; six brothers-in-law, Salvatore De Paola, Tony, Raymond, and Albert Cannavo, and Tom and Phil Wilson; eight nephews, Wayne and Jerry Dale, Peter, Michael, Salvatore Jr., Richard, Paul, and David De Paola; two nieces Nancy De Paola-Merrill and Laura Wilson; and former wife Sharon Hart.
A funeral service for Warren will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 2:00 pm at Mountain Avenue Baptist Church located at 1325 Mountain Avenue in Banning.
