Arcil "Dottie" Cora Smith

Born on April 29th, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. Cuckler and Henrietta Christmas Harvey Cuckler.

In her early life, Dottie attended school at Midway Middle School, K-8.

After school, Dottie spent her life doing what she loved, taking care of her family. She was a homemaker but cleaned houses on the side.

She loved arts, crafts, and home decorating. Dottie enjoyed going on Sunday drives with her husband Bobby to visit family and friends. She also enjoyed camping and went often. Later in life, when she seemed to be slowing down, Dottie took up 4-wheeler riding. She enjoyed nature so much, she even brought some of it into her home to admire. She never slowed down and always wanted to do something with her time.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Cuckler and Willie Cuckler and one sister, Juanita Cuckler Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband, Bobby Smith of Midway, WV; two sons, Mickey Ewing Jr. (Vicki Bostic) of Coal City, WV and Benjamin Ewing ( Deborah Ewing) of Princwick, WV; granddaughters Abrigail Redmon and Katelyn Carter (Chance Carter) of Coal City, WV; a grandson, Kristian Polk of Coal City, WV; a great-grandson, Clay Carter of Coal City, WV; and a great-granddaughter, Sophie Carter of Coal City, WV; as well as a whole host of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Services for Dottie will be on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at 1PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Tolliver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Dottie will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the service.

There will be a dinner held for the family at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church, Brethren Church Rd., Crab Orchard.

Kevin Lilly, Ronnie Smith, Roger Smith, Josh Smith, Rancy Bradley and Robert Lynch will serve as pallbearers.
