

Arlene Edith Moore, 89, of King, North Carolina, formally of Beckley, WV, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Kate Reynolds Hospice House. Born March 12, 1927 in Riley, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James and Roxie Grear. Arlene moved to NC 12 years ago to be closer to her daughters. She was a member of Regular Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Arlene was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey K. Moore; brothers, George Grear and Walter Grear; sisters, Alice Bragg, Claribel Sampson and Daphane Grear. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Donna Agee and husband Rick of King, NC, and Patty Phoebus and husband Dean of Ridgeway, VA; sister Goldie Brown of Simpsonville, SC; grandsons, Scott Phoebus of Roanoke, VA, Rusty Scott and Rickey Agee of Winston-Salem, NC; great-grandsons, Donovan and Nick Phoebus of Roanoke, VA; great-granddaughter, Rosalee Scott of Durham, NC. Friends may gather with the family Monday, October 24, 2016 at 12-2pm. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be sent to Kate Reynolds Hospice House, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103.
