GUNNOE, Arthur “Cracker” Ellis, age 78, of Harper, passed away on October 31, 2014 at the age of 78 in Beckley. He was born on August 8, 1936, the son of the late Arlie and Maggie Gunnoe. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; Kermit Gunnoe, Ruby Combs, Irene Lafferty, Thelma Simerly, Delmar Gunnoe and Pauline Payne. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Shirley Cox; his brother, Donald Gunnoe; and many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2pm at the Harper Free Methodist Church, 3662 Harper Rd., Harper with Pastor Greg Lanhem officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until the time of funeral services at 2pm. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Blue Ridge Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
