

Berman is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Billie Cornett; his son, Chuck Cornett and wife Sharon; his daughter, Tiffani Spicer and husband Shannon; his step daughters, Denise Hughes and husband Tate, and Terra Utt; his grandchildren, Madison and Dylan Cornett, Dalton Spicer, Chelsey Settle and husband Colten, Jesslyn Darby and husband Nicholas, Kathryn Hughes, and Nathaniel Utt; great-grandchild, Van Clay Darby; his brother, Jeff Cornett and wife Pam; his sister, Tonya and his nieces and nephews, as well as many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eugene Cornett and Ada Belle Cornett, and his brother, Clyde Cornett.
Berman was a devout member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church, where he served as superintendent of Sunday School, lead usher, and many other areas. He was a coal miner for 41 years. He enjoyed playing church league softball, basketball, golfing and white water rafting. His favorite daily activity was reading his Bible and prayer. He especially loved spending time with his wife and family.
Berman especially will be remembered for his commitment to his family, church and friends, his love for the Lord, and his impact on so many people.
Funeral services for Berman will be on Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at 3PM at Crab Orchard Baptist Church with Pastor David Bush and Dewey Lowe Officiating. The family will receive friends from 1PM-3PM the same day. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Cornett, Brandon Cornett, Nate Utt, Colten Settle, Nick Darby, and Clay Lilly.
