Billy Gene Crawford, age 94, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley, WV. Born on May 5, 1925 in Keystone, WV, he was the son of the late Earl Snow Crawford and Maryann Gilberta Harvey Crawford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Antoinette Griffith, Harvey Crawford, Dwayne Crawford, Alec Crawford and his wife, and Michael Crawford; his many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Gertie, Autry, and Alda Mae.
Mr. Crawford is a veteran of the United States Navy and was known as a "True Patriot". He was an avid sailor having sailed around the world several times by himself.
At the request of Mr. Crawford and his family, no services will be held. Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Crematorium has the honor of serving the family.
