Carolyn Rose Candler

Born to parents Warden and Alice Catron in Kimball, WV in her younger years she loved to travel especially to the beach to visit lighthouses and see dolphins, one of her favorite animals. As she got older, she became a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them whether it was singing and dancing to Dolly Parton in the kitchen with her grandkids or wishing that every day was a holiday so they could all be close to her. In her down time, she spent her time and affection loving her dog Molly and watching westerns on the TV. A faithful Christian she was also sure to catch every sermon by Jim and Donnie Swaggart that she could.

She is preceded in death by her parents Warden and Alice Catron; her beloved son Jonathan Lee; and brother Gene Catron.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Amy Richardson and husband Clinton; grandchildren Alissa Franklin and husband David, Jonathan Jayden Hamby, Amber Jones, Joseph Clark, and Jacob Howell; great-grandchildren Brantley, Aleiyah, Ashlee, Madison, Logan, and Bellamy; sister Natalie Atha; brothers David Collins and wife Sherri, Richard Catron and wife Shirley, and Mike Collins; nephews Jeff Atha and wife Tarsia, David and Ricky; nieces Jessica and Stephanie; great-nephews Mason and Jackson; a great-niece Kassidy; as well as her caretaker Kat and beloved dog Molly. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.

Services for Carolyn will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Tuesday December 9th, 2025, at 1 pm. Friends are invited to gather with the family for a visit an hour prior to services. Burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens immediately to follow services.
