

Born September 16, 1928 in Horse Creek, West Virginia. Chris was known as a very hard working man. He was a lifelong member of Rebecca Chapel Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and in his later years attended The Family Worship Center. For the past 1 ½ years he faithfully attended to the needs of his loving wife of 67 years. Chris started in the timber industry at age 14 then later worked in the coal mines for 44 years starting out in the Union and finishing up as a General Mine Foreman. His calling and passion was playing and singing music. He enjoyed gardening, mowing grass and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Violet Cook, Velvet Miller and Rosa Webb; brothers, Carl Linville and Scott Linville.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Myrtle Dickens Linville; children, Shelby Linville (Debbie), Delane Linville (Patti), Crystal Williams (Eddie), Tammy Abrams (Rodney) and Anita Stover (Ronnie); grandchildren, Shannon Linville (Joleen), Jason Linville (Amy), Rebakah Toler (Eddie), Kevin Linville (Anna), Elizabeth Legg (Jordan), Uriah Stover and Alivia Stover; great-grandchildren, Jaden and Mason Linville, Devin Linville, Willow and Skyler Toler, Levi and Tanner Linville and Emma Legg; sisters, Ona Cook and Marie Webb; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home from 12-2pm.
Funeral service will be held 2pm, Saturday, January 28, 2017 with Pastor Sam Peterson officiating. Burial following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
