Mrs. Dorothy L Brewer

Dorothy Louise Collins Brewer 85 of Beckley passed away Wednesday September 23, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1929 in Boomer, WV to the late Oakley Louis and Pearl Mullins Collins. Mrs. Brewer was a homemaker and attended the House of Worship in Beckley. She enjoyed going to the mall, being with her family and friends, and going to the Raleigh County Commission on Aging Senior Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband Harry James Brewer and several brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Harry Bernard Brewer and wife Marion of Comfort, WV, one daughter Elaine Lewis of Beckley, 12 grandchildren: Christina Gutierrez, Karina Martin, Bobbie Lee Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Mattie Lewis, Silas Lewis, Genna Lewis, Ashley Marie Carden, Ronnie Stewart, Debbie Hoag, Kimberly Houchins, and Sherry Bett, Nine Great Grandchildren also survive. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley with Rev. Mitch Alkire officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home.
