Ella Mitchem of Harper, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, following a short illness. She was born on July 27, 1930 in Sandlick, WV, and was the daughter of the late Dawson and Faye Biggs Daniel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Mitchem; her four brothers, Dawson Stanley Daniel Jr., Buster Biggs, Dorsey Cole Daniel, and David Daniel; four sisters, Juanita Cook, Doris Miller, Jessie Porter and Goldie Harper.
Ella is survived by her son David Mitchem; brother Bill Daniel of Bradley, WV; two sisters, Bonnie Silsby of Front Royal, Va, and Virginia Mitchem of Hinton, WV; not to mention a host of nieces and nephews.
Ella was a homemaker her entire life; enjoyed cooking/baking, making crafts and many handmade quilts over the years. At 95 her memory was very sharp. She will be greatly missed.
