Ellen Izetta Workman Blevins, 85, of Coal City, WV was welcomed into the arms of Jesus February 8, 2021; and into the awaiting arms of her husband, Paris. Born June 19, 1935 in Sullivan, WV; she was the daughter of the late Harry Cecil Workman and Gracie Mae Sisk Workman.
Izetta married the true love of her life, Paris, in September 1954. They were blessed with five children, Patricia “Kyline” Roark and husband, Steve, Regina Mullens and late husband, Mike, Denzil Blevins and wife, Shelia, Martha Hughes and husband, Anthony, Kim Gration and husband, Steve. Along with their children, they were blessed with Izetta’s sister, Connie Meador and husband, Roy; all of whom chose to stay close to Izetta, residing in Coal City.
Izetta was a lifelong homemaker, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved her family, gardening, singing, church, and shopping. She loved vacationing in the both the Smokey Mountains and the beach.
Izetta was preceded in death by her wonderfully devoted soulmate and husband, Paris Blevins, her father, Harry Workman, mother, Gracie Workman, brother, Lonnie Workman, and grandchildren, Tonya and Tara Blevins.
Those left to cherish her memory in along with her children are her grandchildren, Anthony Roark, Kyle Roark, Derek Dotson, Celeste Rubin, Cameron Blevins, Leya Chandler, Brett Lacy and Brandon Gration, Tiphanie Stocks, Cindy Bragg, LaDawn Meador, Roy Meador, also 20 great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate the life of Ellen Izetta Workman Blevins will be held 12:00PM Friday, February 12, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with Pastor Lowell Black officiating. Following the services, Izetta will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of sympathy be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia in memory of Ellen Izetta Blevins.
Friends may gather with the family from 11:00AM until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
The family would especially like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Southern West Virginia and their caring nurses and caregivers for helping to care for Izetta in the last years of her life.
