Eva Joann Gration

In loving memory of our dearest Eva Joann Gration, of Coal City, formerly of Josephine who departed this world at the age of 90 on February 24, 2024. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose presence illuminated our lives like a beacon of love and joy.

Joann was a paragon of kindness, generosity, and grace. Her passion for shopping was legendary. She attended the Teel Apostolic Church, a place she cherished deeply. She adored her church family, finding comfort within its embrace.

Her unwavering devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her life. Her warm embrace and gentle words could soothe any sorrow and brighten even the darkest days.

In her final journey, Joann is joined in death by her beloved spouse, Samuel Gration; her beloved mother, Winnie Coalson; three sisters, Bonnie, Mary Alice, and Frannie.

Left to mourn her loss are her adoring children, Linda Tucker and husband, Damon of Josephine, Steve Gration and wife, Kim of Coal City, Gary Gration and wife, Jessica of Virginia Beach, VA they carry on her love and compassion. Her cherished grandchildren, Greg, Kevin, Samantha, Stefanie, Brett, and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Miles, Leona, Lindsey, Laykin, and Ava will forever hold her memory dear in their hearts. She had a special way of making each of us feel like her favorite.

Though she may have departed this world, she will be forever cherished and deeply missed. Special appreciation for Steve and Kim for the special care they gave her the last two years of her life.

Services to celebrate the life of Eva Joann Gration will be held 5:30PM Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley Bishop Gary D. Blankenship and Pastor Gary B. Blankenship will be officiating. Eva will be entombed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 4:30PM until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
