Helen “Jo” Blackburn, 73, of Beckley, WV went home to be with the Lord resting peacefully on Wednesday, July 13th 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born December 4, 1948 in Edwight, WV; she was the daughter of the late William C. Rader and Kathleen Rutledge Rader.
“Jo” was a 1966 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She then went on to work at Central States Industries. Retiring after 20 years in December 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred L. Blackburn Jr. and sisters Sandy Stewart and Margaret Peggy Mankin.
She is survived by one son Jeffrey L. Blackburn and wife Shelley of Beckley, W.V., 3 grandchildren Kailee Elkins of Virginia Beach, V.A., Cody Blackburn of Charlotte N.C., Brittany Caron of Beckley, W.V., 4 great grandchildren, Weylyn Elkins, Garrett McMillion, Braydon McMillion, Camden McMillion, a sister Kate Ayers and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Bright Leaf Place and Hospice of Danville, V.A.
In keeping with Jo’s wishes, all services will be private.
