

Ida Bell Holdren age 81 of Daniels, WV went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Prosperity, WV. Ida was born in Caperton, WV on February 22, 1933 to the late Ernest and Emma Asbury. Ida was married to the late Thomas Holdren on June 28, 1952 at Glen Ferris. Ida was employed at Faber Nursing Home in Cortland, OH for several years. She was also a caregiver for the elderly over a span of 35 years. She enjoyed cooking, singing, nursing plants back to health, traveling and caring for her family. Ida was a member of Spoken Word Tabernacle in Beaver, WV for 23 years. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, a sister, Ruby Henry from Wheeling, WV; son-in-law, Michael Reedy of Apple Creek, OH; grandson, Joey Price of Grandview, WV, and granddaughter Julia Harding of Shady Spring, WV. Those left to cherish her memories include son, Thomas Holdren and wife Linda of Apple Creek, OH; daughter, Norma Reedy of Daniels, WV, daughter Marceline Price of Shady Spring, WV, daughter, Vickie Bair and husband, John of Shady Spring, WV; son, David Holdren and wife Sharon of Shady Spring, WV and daughter, Ida Cook and husband, Jeff of Pinch, WV. Also surviving are her brothers, Lloyd Asbury of Odd, WV and Deward Asbury of Lanark, WV; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and Peaches. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 24, 2014 at Spoken Work Tabernacle Church in Beaver, WV. Burial will follow at the Montgomery Memorial Park in London, WV. Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 6 – 8 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
