Ina Frances Miller

Ina Frances Miller, age 92, of Sophia, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Fayette Nursing & Rehab Center in Fayetteville. Born on November 14, 1927 in Winding Gulf, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank Porter and Minnie Soots Porter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas “Tommy” Miller; infant son, Melvin James Miller; granddaughter, Brandy Miller; sisters, Zella Holman, Betty Price, and Margaret Porter; and brothers, Donald Porter, Arlie Porter, Arthur Porter. Herman Porter, Roscoe Porter and Robert Porter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ricky Miller and wife, Karen of Midway; daughter, Susie Bishop and husband, Mark of Beckley; grandchildren, Adam Miller, Tiffani Goff and husband, Jesse, Heather Clark and husband, Brian, April Furrow and husband, Scott, and Judd Allen and wife, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Ian Bishop, Leia Allen, Gary Furrow, and Sarah Furrow; sisters, Shirley Seville and Reva Cooper; brother, Charles Porter and wife, Mary Jo; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller work as a CNA for over 32 years at the Beckley Hospital. She attended Sophia First Baptist Church and in her later years, she attended Bible Baptist Church with her son and daughter-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Green officiating. Burial will follow the services at Hot Coal Cemetery in Sophia.

In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family of Mrs. Miller and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.

The family would like to express their gratitude and a special thank you to the staff of Fayette Nursing & Rehab Center for the care and compassion they provided to Mrs. Miller over the last four years.
