Jean Marie Whitten

Jean M. Whitten, 85, of Piney View, entered into eternal rest and was reunited with her husband Thomas C. Whitten on May 27, 2016. She was surrounded by her son and daughters. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her mother Iona F. Adkins, her sisters Arlene, Cathleen, Audrey, Mary, Shirley; brother, Jimmy; aunt, Maude Bivens; cousins, Polly Hazle-grove and Rose-Mary Dorsey. Those left to cherish her memory include her 3 children Donna Whitten and her husband Mark T. Moore of Charleston, Sandra Little and her husband Tim of Raleigh NC and Thomas A. Whitten of Savannah, GA, her grandchildren Adam Ormandy, Jacob Ormandy and his wife Tamara, great grandchildren Jacob Ryan Ormandy and Christian James Ormandy, all of Raleigh NC, and her sister Jaqueline, a host of nieces, nephews, and countless beloved friends. Jean was dedicated to her family and friends. She loved gardening and all animals, especially Sweetie. Graveside services will be held Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
