Judith Thompson

Born October 7th 1942, she was a daughter to Katherine Louise and William Matherly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Claude Thompson.

She was a little sister to Richard and big sister to Carlos, Jan, Mike, Paul, Sue, Marsha, and Sandy.

Judy was a devoted wife of 63 years to her husband, Claude, whom she joined in heaven.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Melanie Cooper (Tom), Greg Thompson (Lisa) and Tina Blevins( Keith).

Judy found joy in many things— attending Tilden Community Church, where she served the Lord faithfully as Treasurer for many years, tending to the flowers in her beautiful garden, working jigsaw puzzles, and her yearly vacation to Gatlinburg with her family.

Most of all, she was a one of a kind nana to her eight grandchildren, Sheena, Aaron, Corey, Austin, Haley, Addie, Courtney, Nicholas and eight great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gwen Lively, who took exceptional care of Nan.

Services to celebrate the life of Judy will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with visitation at 11AM for friends and family. Pastor Jack Barber will be officiating.
