Kathleen Franklin

Kathleen Franklin, 100, of Corinne, WV, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born on April 23, 1920 in Maben, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy B. Workman and Ida Hash Workman.

Kathleen attended Pierpoint Freewill Baptist Church in Maben, WV and worked as an X-Ray technician for over 35 years at Wyoming General Hospital. She enjoyed crafts such as ceramic and crocheting. She loved and cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Franklin; her sisters, Zida Elam, Maxie Bowles, Vesta Wilson, Emily Kardish and Geneva Taylor; her brothers, Earl Workman, Max Workman and B. Workman; grandson, Michael Franklin; granddaughter, Pam Cumby; and great-grandchildren, Harold Shrewsbury, Jr. and Todd Shrewsbury.

Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kathryn Kelly; son, Ronald Franklin; grandchildren, Doug Franklin, Debbie Patrick and husband, Robbie, Belinda Shrewsbury and husband, Harold, and Richard Cumby and wife, Libby; great-grandchildren, Heather Franklin, Jamey Patrick and wife, Paula, Jeremy Patrick and wife, Allie, Benjamin Patrick and fiancé, Kassie Catron, Tara Daniels and husband, Michael, Brooke Shrewsbury, Kasey Cumby and fiancé, Chase Jobe, Tyler Cumby, T.J. Bennett and wife, Megan, Tabitha Johnson and husband, Marshall, Charlie Martin, Landon Daniels, Ella Daniels, Sara Johnson, Peyton Bennett, Hannah Johnson, Mason Bennett, Isabella Jobe, Allie Patrick, Bryce Patrick, Blaze Parsons, Sydney Parsons and Keegan Patrick; and extended family members, Nakita Manns, Daisha Summers, Kiaisha Bagut and Steve Kelly and his fiancé, Connie.

A Service of Entombment will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 11, 2020 in the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Doug Thorn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia-Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
