

Larry Dale Halstead, age 80, of Flat Top, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family in prayer. Born on March 28, 1940 in Tamroy, WV. He was the son of the late Earl Halstead and Daisy Bailes Halstead.
Mr. Halstead was a Veteran of the United State Army. During his service, he was stationed in Korea. He worked for Rish Equipment and then in the coal mines for 20 years.
On August 13, 1966 he married the former Glenna Jean Gray. They started a family in Lanark, WV and went on to share the blessing of five sons. Larry and his family then settled in Flat Top where he started his dream of running a farm.
In addition to his parents, Earl and Daisy Halstead, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dana Halstead of Kansas. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Glenna Jean Halstead of Flat Top; his sons, Christopher David Halstead and his wife, Kristi of Shady Spring, Dale Shannon Halstead and his wife, Erica of Flat Top, Earl Lynn Halstead and his wife, Debbie of Cool Ridge, Lou Aaron Halstead and his wife, Cindy of Mooresville, NC, and Stephen Roy Halstead and his wife, Stefphanie of Flat Top; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Allan Halstead of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Dennis Halstead and his wife, Gloria of Fayetteville, WV, and Kevin Halstead and his wife, Melissa of Bradley, WV.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Friday, February 26, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Tilley officiating.
A graveside service with Military Honors presented by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Mr. Halstead's grandsons will honor him by serving as pallbearers.
