Leslie Ball, age 84, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House after a short illness. Born on January 9, 1935 in Red Jacket, WV, he was the son of the late Freeland Ball and Amanda Dingess Ball.
Leslie served two years with the 1st Armored Division “Old Ironsides” with the United States Army. He was employed with the West Virginia Turnpike for 33 years and retired as a Toll Supervisor.
In addition to his parents, Freeland and Amanda Ball, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John “Jay” Ball, Freeland Ball, Jr., Earl Ball, Bob Ball and Berl Ball; and sister, Lucille Meadows.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Ball; sons, Leslie Ball, Jr. and his wife, Vickie of Daniels, Michael P. Ball and his wife, Shelli of Stanaford; grandchildren, Haley Pettry and husband, Derreck of Princeton, Morgan Clay of Mullens, WV, Hannah Ball of Daniels, WV, Blake Ball and wife Jade of Crab Orchard, WV, Taylor Tucker and husband, Jarod of Sophia, WV, and Dalton Ball of Crab Orchard, WV; great-grandchildren, Noah, Emersyn, Owen and Paisley; sister, Donna Ball Mann and husband, Jim of Newport, NC; brother, Moe Ball and wife, Alice of Maple Fork, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Killen officiating. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow in the Cross Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers honor Mr. Ball are Blake Ball, Dalton Ball, James Honaker, Adam Doss, Ricky Ball and Steve Ball.
