Margie Agnes Ellison Barber

Margie A. Ellison Barber, 78, of Daniels,passed away on January 16, 2016 in Beckley, WV. She was the daughter of the late Lewis William and Josephine Upton Ellison. Born February 27, 1937 in Lookout, WV, she attended Tilden Community Church and Gloryland Baptist Church of Camp Creek, WV. Margie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, quilting, cross-stitching, and was an avid story-teller. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Barber; sisters, Melba Orndorff, Kathryn Gibson, Edith Goff, Laura O’Callaghan, Helen Howell, Louise McClung, and Lucille Mitchell; brothers, Lewis W. Ellison, Jr. (Foots), Vernon L. Ellison (Sam), Curtis H. Ellison and Donald Ellison. Those left to cherish Margie’s memory include sons, Ronald J. Barber and wife Bibbi, and their daughter Jamie of Flat Top, WV and Scott D. Barber and wife Susan of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Justin T. Barber and wife Jessica of Shady Spring and Tyler J. Barber of Charleston, WV; brother Clarence A. Ellison of Nanty-Glo, PA. Margie cherished the relationship and memories of her close friends, nieces, and nephews. Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 12-1pm, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. Services will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Jackson C. Barber officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in The Hall of Faith Mausoleum. Joe Altizer, James Duncan, Dave Kirby, Tony Mardian , Dale McVey, Anthony Tharp, and Jim Baker (honorary) will serve as pallbearers.
