

Marilyn Lee Painter “ Heavens choir just got sweeter.” Marilyn Lee Painter, 61, of Bradley, passed away on September 12, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Robert Perry and Ethel Smith Perry. Marilyn worked for 33 years at the Raleigh County Courthouse as the deputy county clerk. She was a Sunday School kindergarten teacher, her and Carlos were youth leaders on Wednesday night’s at the church, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and church family. Marilyn sang in the New Prospect Baptist Quartet, the ladies quartet, and was a member of the New Prospect ladies mission circle. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents as well as her father-in-law Carlos V. Painter Sr. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Carlos Painter of Bradley, son Jeremy Painter and wife Lisa of Bradley, granddaughter Abereann Painter of Bradley, grandsons Robert Painter of Bradley; Nathan Ansell of Bradley; Joey Ansell of Bradley, Sister Florence Evans and husband Alex of Beckley, sister-in-law Phyllis Facello and husband Frank of Maple Fork, special niece Lori Hughes of Beckley, special nephew Jason Evans of New York, and great nephews Cody Deal of Beckley and Robert Hughes of Beckley. Friends may gather with the family Monday September, 15 from 6-9 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, WV. A service to celebrate the life of Marilyn Painter will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 16th at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Sweeneysburg, WV with pastor Gary Williams officiating.
