Mark Martin

He worked as an electrician for over forty years, and while he worked hard those who knew him knew he loved harder. While he loved animals, always having a pet, still there was nothing he loved more than the Lord and his family, especially his wife Drema Martin.

He knew how to enjoy the simple things in life, whether it was flying RC planes, riding his motorcycle, or telling stories to his granddaughters. On a good day family and friends could always find him with a smile on his face before a quick-witted comment slipped out followed by a laugh. On the best day, Thanksgiving by his standard, they could find him with the same smile and laugh only then it would always be seated as close as he could manage to the oysters—his favorite food at any table.

Waiting to embrace him at the pearly gates was his wife Drema and his parents Calvin and Betty Martin.

He is survived by daughter Melissa Gill and husband Micheal of Cool Ridge, WV; brother Micheal Martin and wife Tresa of Little River, SC; sister Mindy Blevins and husband James of Beckley, WV; sister-in-law and friend Polly Boyd of Beckley, WV; nephew Brandon Blevins; his beloved dog “Dude” and many cousins.

Graveside rites by Pastor Jeff Neal will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV on Monday September 8th at 1pm.
