

Ruth was a member of the Glen White Church of God. She liked working in the church, teaching children, singing in the choir, sewing, and working the elections. Ruth was the custodian of the West Virginia Church of God State Office and also The MacArthur Church of God.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Charles Cox, her sons Charles Everett and Raymond “Slim” Cox, stepmom Lucille McPeake, stepdad Thurman Adams, and her siblings Richard McPeake, Gary Utt, Alfred McPeake, and Jackie McPeake.
Survivors left to cherish her memories include her two daughters Vickie (Gary) Wimbish of MacArthur and Charla (Wayne) Terry of Clinton Township, Michigan; 2 sons Richard (Sherry) Cox of Dalzell, South Carolina and David (Lisa) Cox of MacArthur; daughter-in-law Peggy Cox of Flat Top; three sisters Suzanne (Dan) Davis of Ironton, Ohio; Paula (Roger) Stables of Midway, Geraldine (Les) Cox of Sophia; and a brother Paul (Judy) McPeake of Abington, Virginia; along with many family members, nieces, nephews, and friends. Additionally, she is survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. A special thank you to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
A gathering of her friends and family will be held Monday May 8th, 2023 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home from 6 pm to 9 pm. Services will follow Tuesday at 11 am with Pastor Jesse Farley officiating and Pastor J. Wayne Terry assisting. Friends may begin gathering at 10 am with the entombment following immediately afterwards at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Blue Ridge Funeral Home; 5251 Robert C.
