Nellie Harless

Nellie Geneva Harless, age 71 passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital. Born September 7, 1953 at Tams, she was the daughter of the late Robert Howard Harless Sr. and Flora Leona Keffer Harless.

Nellie worked many years as certified nursing assistant in the local area. She loved her work, spending time with family and friends and attending church services. She previously attended Mabscott Baptist Church and then attended services held at Wildwood House, where she resided.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Robert Howard Harless Jr., her cousins Alan and Roger Maynard and her brother-in-law George Arthur "Audie" Griffith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Joyce Griffith of Daniels, brother Daniel Harless of MacArthur, brother Kenneth Harless of Beckley, her devoted caregiver Wendy Smith and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved cat, Rudy.

A gathering of family and friends for Nellie will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV 25801. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Marty Stalnaker officiating.

Nellie will be laid to rest in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, West Virginia

Donations in Nellie's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Raleigh County.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
