

Born October 15, 1932, in Radcliff, Arkansas she was the only child of Elva and frank Moss. Patra spent her childhood in Arkansas and graduated Valedictorian from Radcliff High School in Arkansas in 1949. Patra also attended College of the Ozarks, Arkansas State, Teachers College, and Fort Smith Jr College all in Arkansas.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from WV State College and her Master of Arts in Elementary Education from West Virginia University. She received her Doctorate in Education Administration from Virginia Tech in 1985. She was nationally recognized as “Outstanding Teacher of America” in 1975. She married the love of her life William Conrad Janney Sr. August 10, 1952. Bill preceded her in death in 2006.
Bill and Patra had two children, William C. Janney and Deann P. Janney whom survive from Crab Orchard.
Patra was the loving “Granny” to Sarah Beth Janney of Crab Orchard, WV, Michael W. Janney of Shepherdstown, WV, Ashley N. Treadway and William R. Treadway both of Crab Orchard, WV; on great grandchild Kedric G. Branford also of Crab Orchard, WV.
Besides her children, grandchildren and great grandchild, she is survived by several cousins; special friend, Erma F. Graham of Coal City, WV also survives.
She was very active playing organ, piano and singing in the choir at Church of Brethren in Crab Orchard, WV for over 50 years.
Services will be at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Glen H. Sage officiating. Friends may call on the family from 12:30 – 2:30 pm.
Pallbearers will be Jim Campbell, Mike Fleshman, and Jerry and Keith Suddreth.
