I was fortunate to have Mrs. Janney for music during my years at Sophia Elementary School.  I always knew she was exceptional and that I was learning a lot about music even though I couldn’t carry a tune.  I didn’t really appreciate what a treasure she was until I was in college and learned so few of my peers, aside from music majors, had ever been taught to read music.  We were so lucky to have had her.

      Condolences to the family on your great loss. I also remember Mrs. Janney as the Sophia Elementary music teacher. Her room was always orderly and professional. I was not surprised, later as an adult, to learn that she was highly regarded by her peers and that she had received her doctorate. 
      A few particular memories about the 'extras' that she kindly brought to her classroom: Contemporary music publications, school house band instruments, performances, the 'Vulcan nerve pinch' (those who know will understand), and my personal favorite, Scholastic Book Fairs. My education would have been missing some of my favorite things without Mrs. Janney. 
      As a child, I never knew that she was a church pianist, but it helps explain her kindness and exceptional grace.

Mrs.Janney taught music at Sophia Grade School when I went there..she was the best teacher I ever had ...she was kind... Compassionate..she encouraged you...sending prayers and may The Lord comfort  all of her family and friends.

She was my music teacher at Sophia Grade School.  My love for music began with her.  She will never be forgotten. Rest in Love Mrs. Janney🎼

Dr. Janney was such a wonderful lady. She was my principal at Daniels Elementary when I attended school there and she was so proud of me when I told her that I was now teaching at Daniels. I was so blessed to spend time with her at the farewell celebration at Sophia-Soak Creek Elementary this past spring. She was definitely a wonderful role model for me as a young girl. Love and prayers to all of her family and friends. 

Mrs. Janney was my music teacher at Sophia Elementary School.  I always loved her class.  She was a great teacher and made learning fun.  Prayers for the family.

I will always remember Pat as a kind lady and playing the piano at the Crab Orchard Church of the Brethren, the family is in my prayers.

She taught music at Sophia Elementary. Many fond memories of her, She will be missed. Condolences to the family.

Mrs Janney was my grade school music teacher. I enjoyed her class. I still remember the horrified look on her face when she played the record I had brought to share with the class, “Centerfold”. RIP Mrs Janney.

Dr. Janney was an unforgettable presence.  I'll never forget her as she directed the choir or played the organ at church.  I'm happy she is reunited with her husband. Heaven has truly gained an angel. I'm sure she and her beloved friend Fred Okes are back to having their conversations. She was always a positive role model and will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers for her family and church.

Sadly missed.  Thank you for always being good to me. 

Dr. Janet was my Music Teacher at Sophia Elementary and then she was my children's Principal at Daniels Elementary. She was a wonderful teacher and principal and the sweetest person!! My daughter and I both cried when she left Daniels. Dr. Janney, we love you!

Dr. Janney was such an inspiration to children growing up at Sophia Elementary school .  She made learning music fun and had a huge influence on many of us Baby Boomers in the 60' s and 70's.  Condolences to her family!  She was an exceptional teacher and a wonderful person!

To the Janney family:  I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. My children attended Daniels Elementary. Dr. Janney was an excellent principal and she constantly strived to make the school an great place to get an education.  My family and I will always appreciate her for her efforts but particularly her kindness. Prayers for you during this difficult time!🙂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Dr. Janney was my music teacher st Sophia Elementary.  She was always nice and so kind.  I still remember the yearly programs we did.  May God provide comfort.
