He is preceded in death by his father Carl Lee Mckinney; mother Linda M. Reed and her husband, the only father he knew Amos Buford Reed; and a nephew Coy Lee Reed.
His is survived by his long time companion Linda Ann Reed; three children Kimberly McKinney, David McKinney, and Travis McKinney; several grand-children; sisters Melinda Kinser and husband Bobby of Camp Creek WV, Dianna Foley, Marie Neely and husband John Jr. of Cooleemee NC, and Beulah Wilson of Harmony NC; brothers Billy McKinney of Cooleemee NC, Carl Wayne McKinney and wife Tina McKinney, and Amos Reed Jr.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
