(Ephesians 2: 8-9) Ramona Lou Ward Veid, 84, of Sullivan Rd., Glen Morgan, WV, passed away June 22, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, where she went to meet her loving Savior. Born October 31, 1931, the daughter of the late John Edward and Bertha Virginia Reed Ward. She was born in Madeline in Raleigh County. Ramona married Fontaine Veid on February 9th, 1950 and they spent 61 happy years together. She loved spending time with her family and was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She cooked enough for 25 to 30 people to eat after church almost every Sunday for many years. Ramona was a Co-Owner, with her husband Fontaine, of a Union 76 Service Station on Raleigh Hill, Beaver Laundromat, Veid Car Wash, and Raleigh Sales and Service. She was a faithful member of Tilden Community Baptist Church for over 65 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Fontaine Veid; brothers, Kenneth, Calvin, Clyde, and Danny Ward. Those left to cherish her memory include daughters Virginia Faye Crouch and husband, J.C.; Linda Veid, and Dianne Bennett, all of Sullivan Rd. Her grandchildren are Kimberley Hosler of Sullivan Rd.; Tammy Plummer and husband Chris of Sullivan Rd.; Jamie Redden and husband Larry of Dover, OH; Derek Davis and wife Jennifer of Sullivan Rd. and Greg Hosler of Sullivan Rd. Her great-grandchildren are Laura and husband Alex Cogar; David Hosler; Jacob, Caleb and Sarah Plummer; Dustin and Matthew Redden; and Natalee and Bentley Davis; and one great-great granddaughter Khloe Cogar. Her surviving siblings are Carol Miller, Elizabeth and husband Andy Cobb, and Michael and wife Sherian Ward. She also had a special nephew George Morgan and his wife Charlotte, and a host of extended family and friends. Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Tilden Community Baptist Church, with Pastor Gene Terry officiating. Following the services Ramona will be laid to rest at Furrow Tilden Community Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Pallbearers are Derek Davis, Chris Plummer, David Hosler, Jacob Plummer, Dustin Redden, Caleb Plummer, Matthew Redden, and George Morgan. Honorary Pallbearer will be Greg Hosler. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Southern WV, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25801. All of the workers and volunteers at Hospice were very caring and kind, and we want to thank them for everything they did for us.
