Ray Arthur Testerman

Ray Arthur Testerman, 77, of Midway, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home following a long illness with his family by his side. Born on January 7, 1944 in McAlpin, WV, he was the son of the late Earl and Dorothy Testerman.

Ray married the love of his life, Brenda (Lacy) Testerman on September 30, 1967 and in which they made their home in Midway, WV. They are blessed with three children, Rhonda Phillips and husband, Steve of Beaver, Rachelle Kendrick and husband, Scott of Beaver, and Joshua Testerman and wife, Rebekah of Sophia. He was the proud “Pappaw” to Preston Kendrick and wife, Savannah of Pinch, WV, Megan Vandall and husband, Tyler of Princeton, WV, Ethan and Alyssa Testerman of Sophia, Jane Leggett and husband, Justin of Falling Waters, WV; and “great-pappaw” to Micah, Elijah, Ezekiel and Ariel. He truly loved spending time with his family.

He was the dear brother of Kyle Testerman of Sophia, Ronnie Testerman and wife, Sue of True, WV, and Michael Testerman of True, WV; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Ray spent most of his childhood in Sophia, WV. He graduated from Sophia High School and served three years in the United States Army. Once he was honorably discharged from the Army, he studied brick masonry and worked at various places before retiring from Coal Fillers, Inc.

Ray was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Midway. He was a servant of the Lord, and over the years he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader and Elder. He was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and he had a great concern for souls.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hilltop Baptist Church in Midway. Funeral Services will be held following the visitation at 1:00 pm at Hilltop Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Ingram officiating. Military Honors with Graveside Rites will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers honoring Mr. Testerman will be Steve Phillips, Scott Kendrick, Preston Kendrick, Ethan Testerman, Tyler Vandall, Elijah Testerman, Caleb Testerman and Kelly Lacy.

In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.
