Roger Lee Acord

Roger was of the Baptist faith. He worked for a number of years as an engineer with Norfolk and Southern Railroad. His favorite pastimes were turkey hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife LaVerne Dishner Acord.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Vickie Ball and her husband Leslie Ball Jr. of Daniels, WV; son Kevin Acord and wife Barbara of Grottoes, VA; granddaughter Morgan Bovee and husband Roy of Mount Hope, WV; Tiana and Kindra Acord of Grottoes, VA; Hannah Ball of Daniels, WV; great grandsons Noah Adkins and Owen Clay of Mount Hope, WV; sister Carol Kennedy and brother Randy Acord, both of Jumping Branch, WV; and brother Douglas Acord and wife Shirley of Corinne, WV.

A gathering of family and friends for Roger will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV 25801, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Roger will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery, Princeton, WV.

Robert Ward II, Billy Gillenwater, Rodney Reed, Randall Collins, Winston Moore and Jimmy Dean Fraley will serve as pallbearers.
