Scott William Bradford, age 36, passed away on April 15, 2026. Born January 9, 1990, in Washington DC; he was a son of Bonita Mills Thompson of Mt. Hope, WV, and the late Robert William Bradford, Sr. Scott was a resident of Sophia, West Virginia.
Those who knew Scott will remember a man whose compassion showed itself in steady ways—through thoughtful attention to others, a kind-hearted presence, and an ease that made people feel welcome. He had a gift for bringing lightness into a room and was the type of person who could make anyone laugh, offering comfort and connection in the simplest moments.
Scott dedicated 15 years of service to the VA Medical Center in Beckley, WV. His work reflected the same care and consideration that shaped his life beyond the workplace, and he will be remembered with gratitude for the years he gave in service to others.
Scott found joy in playing video games and treasured time spent with his nieces and nephew. His warmth and thoughtfulness were most evident in the love he shared with family and in the laughter he so naturally brought to those around him.
Scott is survived by his mother, Bonita Mills Thompson of Mt. Hope, WV; his brother, Robert Bradford and wife, Rebecca of Mechanicsville, Maryland; nieces, Olivia, Gloria, Holland, Jillian, and Miriam; and a niece that is on the way, Bernadette; nephew, William; aunt, Bonnie Quinto and husband, Ed of Lakeridge, VA; step-grandfather, Wade Haney of Fredericksburg, VA; extended family and a host of friends.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Scott William Bradford will be held at a later date.
