Vicky Lynn Darnell Gray

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”.

Vicky Lynn Darnell Gray, 63, of Fairdale, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.

Born September 13, 1951 at Beckley, WV she was the daughter of the late Brack M. Darnell and the late Mary E. Darnell.

Vicky was a former employee of Silver Brand Clothes and a Nursing Assistant for Dr. Blando’s office. She was also an EMT and Volunteer Firefighter for the Sophia Volunteer Fire Department. She was a member of the Glen Daniel Worship Center where she loved serving the Lord. She was a graduate of Stoco High School.

In addition to her parents, Vicky was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Gray, Sr and a brother, Danny Ray Darnell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Sherri “Sissy” Baugh and husband, Shane of Copperas Cove, TX and Aprile Blevins and husband, Steve of Fairdale; one son, Justin Gray and his girlfriend, Jessica Henderson of Huntington; three brothers, Roger Darnell and wife, Patty of Coal City, Mike Darnell and wife, Lynn of Coal City, and Darrell Darnell and wife, Drema of Beckley; her grandchildren, Matthew Welch, Cheyenne Blevins, Ian Baugh and Ethan Baugh; many nieces and nephews and an abundance of cherished friends; and her cherished dog, Molly Ann.

Services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Jerry Cantley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.

Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
