Virginia E. Duncan

Virginia Ewing Duncan, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away April 15, 2017. Virginia, the daughter of Earl and Bertha Ewing, was born May 20, 1929. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Q. Duncan; parents, Earl and Bertha Ewing; and siblings, Alfreda, Teddy, and Eddy Ewing, as well as step-granddaughter, Cassandra Harrison and daughter-in-law, Margaret Duncan. Left to treasure memories of Virginia are her daughter, Vicki and husband, Tim Curtis; and son, Samuel Duncan. Siblings left to cherish her memory are Johnny Ewing and spouse Dorothy, Erma Patterson, Helen Ames and spouse, Donald, sister, Janie Nadeau, and Gertrude Adkins. Virginia will be missed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christopher Curtis and wife, Jeanette and great-granddaughter, Chloe; granddaughter, Beverly Weis and husband, Teddy, and great-grandchildren, MargaretAnne, Teddy, and MaddiLynn; granddaughter, Savannah Duncan, Angela Duncan and mother, Sarah Pugh; grandson, Sammy Duncan, Jr. and step-granddaughter, Belinda Weidensall; step-grandchildren, Aaron Weidensall, Gabriel and Ariana Kaylor and Montana Gardner. Virginia will also be missed and remembered by granddaughter, Becky Duncan and great-granddaughters, Jessica Dougherty, Kasey Dalton and grandson, Tyler Miller. A celebration of life for Virginia will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Virginia’s son, Pastor Samuel Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 11 – 1 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Virginia’s name to Bowers Hospice House, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802.
