

Bill was born on February 14,1942 in Eccles WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents Estelle and William H Fox Sr., his wife Bernada Sue
Fox and many friends and family members.
He is survived by his son David Byron Fox, his partner Cody Ray Harrison, their son Dreyas Octavian Cordero Lee McKinney. His stepdaughter Traci Smith, (Danny) their son Corey Smith, (Jennifer), their children Gavin and Rosalyn. David Byron and Traci’s mother, long time friend and former wife Billye Carolyn Goode. Stepdaughter Susie Metz and stepson Michael Sturgill, (Dawn) and her children Adam and Brittany.
Bill was a proud Honorably Discharged US Army Veteran who missed being deployed to Vietnam by 2 days.
Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Beckley. He was a master carpenter for American Modular, an EMT for Raleigh Ambulance until its closing in 1983, the head of security at Raleigh General, he drove a fuel tanker for Eagle Transport and worked at the fuel station at the Tamarak exit.
He proudly earned a black belt in Shotokan Karate Do under Shihan RD Calhoun at an age when it was most difficult.
He loved creating things with wood, made wicker baskets and drew beautiful pictures. He had even learned how to crochet doilies, from his former mother-in-law, to keep him busy while he was laid off in the winter while working as a carpenter.
He loved to fish, camp and taught Traci and David Byron to fish. He would take them out after a rain to hunt for worms so they could fish the next day. He loved playing cards and to bake desserts from scratch and make different flavors of fudge. He and his wife Sue were regular customers at China One in Sophia.
