William Aubrey Nichols, 72 years of age, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital. Born on October 18, 1946 in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Fred Hamilton Nichols and Bertha Chenault Nichols.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-sisters, Pauline and Stephanie; and his grandson, Curtis Webb. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Jarrett Nichols; daughter, Mary Webb and her husband, Larry; son, Fred H. Nichols; grandchildren, Richard Webb and his wife, Catie, and Michael Webb; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon Webb and Aubrie Webb.
Mr. Nichols was an avid Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He graduated from Romney School for the Deaf and Blind in Romney, WV and retired from the United States Post Office in Beckley after 24 years.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. A Service of Remembrance will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Don Kelly officiating and Charlene Polk serving as an interpreter.
