

Alaister MacLennan, of Orlando, Florida & Nottingham, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the age of 76. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Noreen MacLennan; children, Daniel (Joelle) MacLennan, and Karen (Aaron) Rabinowitz; and grandchildren, Carol and Adam Rabinowitz. Brother of Peter (Linda) MacLennan and beloved uncle of Stephen Hammond, Andrew Hammond, Susan MacLennan, Michael MacLennan, and Jacqueline MacLennan.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Kenneth and Elsie MacLennan, and sister, Valerie Hammond, brother-in-law Robert Hammond, and niece Carol Hammond.
Alaister was born in Staffordshire, England, U.K.
In his youth, he was a Queen Scout, a talented football (soccer) player, an excellent swimmer, and a very accomplished mechanical engineering student. His engineering acumen, interpersonal skills, and aptitude for sales launched his career with JCB Excavators Ltd., which led Alaister to permanently settle in the U.S. in 1975. Beginning in the JCB Service Department, Alaister later became Regional Sales Manager for the Eastern U.S.A. at JCB. Alaister later joined Tate Access Floors, Inc. where he held positions of Eastern Regional Sales Manager, Vice-President of Sales & Contracting, and President of Tate Contracting. He finished his business career as the President and Owner of Atlantic Networks, where he represented Communications Integrators, Inc. (CII) designing and providing modular power voice/data equipment.
As an avid golfer, he loved the sport, camaraderie, challenge, and history of the game. He travelled to see almost every Ryder Cup held in Europe over the last 40 years. He will be missed by all who have known and golfed with him at Mountain Branch Golf Club, Maryland Golf & Country Club, and Reunion Resort & Golf Club.
Alaister was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He will be remembered as a family man, vivid storyteller, meticulous dresser, and world traveler.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 2:00PM until 4:00PM, and 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Schimunek Funeral Home of BelAir Inc. at 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21014. Services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11901 Belair Road, Kingsville, MD 21087 at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception following the service at Maryland Golf & Country Club at 1335 E. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, Maryland, 21015 from 12:30 until 4:30PM.
