Trey was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and his life took him on a winding road across the United States. He loved music that spoke to the soul, found peace near the ocean, and had a quiet, unwavering compassion for animals. Trey’s life was not easy — he faced addiction and depression, and he fought battles that few could see. But he also fought hard for his own redemption, making real changes in his life and working toward a future he could be proud of.
He was the kind of person who understood struggle, and because of that, he never turned away from others who needed help. Trey offered his hand freely, without judgment, because he knew what it meant to hurt — and what it meant to heal. His kindness came from a place of real experience, not pretense.
Trey was not perfect, and he didn’t pretend to be. He lived honestly, loved fiercely, and left an imprint on the people lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his parents, Albert Joseph Vacovsky Jr. and Patricia Vacovsky; his sister, Lindsey, and her husband Bryan Derr; his niece and nephew, Evelyn and Corbin Derr; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him as he was: Kurt and Cindy Vacovsky, Craig and Gina Vacovsky, Bill and Danielle Tallagsen, Karl and Barbara Frevel, Joe and Lynn Grossman, and John and Kim Grossman.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Ann Grossman, Pat and Carl Tallagsen, Albert Joseph Vacovsky Sr., and great-grandparents Alma Tallagsen, Bruce and Nora Greene.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Boumi Shriners Hall, 5050 King Ave, Baltimore, MD 21237. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Trey — not just for his struggles, but for his heart, his fight, and the love he shared.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial gifts be made to Town Cats of Ocean City, a cause close to Trey’s heart.
