On September 14, 2014 Bernard “Bernie” Ellis Cross passed away. Bernie was the loving son of Joanne Younghans; beloved husband of Mayumi Cross (Nishio); devoted father of Ellika Cross, Ashley Brooke and Cody Cross; dear brother of Bobby and Charlie; cherished brother-in-law of Makoto Nishio. Also survived by many loving extended family members and friends. Bernie served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years. He retired in 2000 as a Gunnery Sergeant. During his years of service he received numerous commendations.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014, on Friday from 10-11am for a Receiving of Friends. A Memorial Service will follow at 11am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bernie’s name to an animal shelter of your choice.
