Brenda Jean Gooden Pyle

Brenda Jean Gooden Pyle passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 surrounded by her family and a dear friend. Brenda was born September 8, 1936 in London, England. Brenda came to the United States in her 20's and worked for Davis Concrete in Aberdeen, Maryland as a Bookkeeper. Brenda spent most of her adult life in Harford County.

Brenda Pyle is survived by her husband, Lejeune R. Pyle ("Shorty"). She is also survived by her sister, Francis Gooden and brother, John Gooden both of England; step-children Robert Pyle and his wife Mary Ann of Boulder, Colorado; Sandra Watson and her husband Cris of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren Robert Cox and his wife, Sylvia of Long Island, NY; Lindsay Cox of Belcamp, Md.; Alex Watson of Memphis Tennessee; Matthew and Dylan Pyle of Boulder, Colorado. Her pride and joy this year was the birth of her great-granddaughter Mia Cox whom she was able to spend time with before her death. Brenda is also survived by many nieces and nephews who live in England. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Shirley Marsh of London, England.

Brenda enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was very active at the Bel Air Athletic Club for many years. Her greatest joy though was to spend time with her husband, Shorty. They traveled frequently and were 'snowbirds' for years traveling to Florida during the winter. One was usually not seen without the other and they brought each other joy during their 26 years of marriage.

Viewing is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 17th 5pm to 7pm and the service will be held Saturday, Oct. 18th, 11am. Both will be held at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Bel Air, Maryland.
