Carol Ann Solberg

Carol Ann Solberg (née Vondrashek) passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of the late LTC Anthony M. Solberg; devoted mother of Kathy Bailey and her husband Kevin, Mark Solberg and his wife Kim, Barb Solberg and her wife Lisa Niner, Jeanne Thibeault and her husband John, and the late Peter Solberg and his surviving spouse Patricia; loving grandmother of Patrick Bailey, Daniel Bailey (Alex), Sara Brown (Erik), Rob Solberg (Laura), Dave Solberg (Mal), Amanda Solberg-Bowen (Drew), Tony Solberg (Jessica), Katherine Solberg (Andrew), Samantha Thibeault, and Kyle Thibeault (Caroline); dear great-grandmother of Thomas & Cameron Bailey, Eloise LaMonica, Lucy & William Solberg, Henry & Nate Solberg, Claire & Michelle Brown, Elizabeth Seedley, Alice Solberg, and Sigrid DeLong.

Carol was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and married her high school sweetheart, Tony Solberg, when he graduated from West Point in 1957. They spent many years moving from one military base to another before settling at Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1972.

She earned her master’s degree in nursing and built a distinguished career in nursing administration, serving at Harford Memorial Hospital, A.I. DuPont in Delaware, the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore and Upper Chesapeake Hospital.

Carol was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a longtime member of the Harford Choral Society. She loved attending local high school sports events and was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Duke University basketball.

Visitation will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., located at 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD, 21014, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Church, located at 141 N Hickory Ave, Bel Air, MD, 21014, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 10:00 am.

The interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
