Danford "Dan" A. Silva

On February 10, 2017, Danford "Dan" A. Silva. Dan served his country faithfully in the U. S. Navy as an enlisted sailor and as a Career Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served his country in the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. In addition he was a Merchant Marine and a former Harford County Inspector. Dan was retired and enjoyed teaching stained glass to the citizens of Harford County. Beloved husband of Kathleen A. Silva (nee Lopes); devoted father of Deborah Weiss and husband Ronald, Colleen Hynes and husband James Jr. and Michael D. Silva and wife Lisa M.; loving grandfather of Crystal Hutchins, Nicholas Hynes, Jennifer Koluch, Anthony, Katlyn and Madison Hynes, Melissa Chisenhall, Daniel Weiss, Joshua, Cody, Meghan and Aiden Silva. Also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air MD 21014, on Monday, February 13, 2017, 3-5 & 7-9 p.m., and where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. Interment Highview Memorial Gardens.
