Fred was the beloved companion of Marie Akers; devoted father of Kimberly Maxwell and son-in-law Joseph Maxwell Jr., and his son, the late Frederick H. Faber III; loving grandfather of Brandon Saunders; and dear brother of the late Rosely Moltz. He is also survived by his best friends, Vernon Shoff and Dave Ruby, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Faber, as well as his father, Frederick “Grandpop Babe” Faber, and his mother, Rose Faber.
Fred proudly worked at Bethlehem Steel for 40 years at “The Point” in Baltimore, Maryland, where he helped make the steel that kept America running. He took great pride in his work and carried that same dedication, discipline, and craftsmanship into every part of his life.
A man of many talents, Fred truly believed he could do anything he set his mind to — and often proved it. He once went to the library, taught himself how to build a dormer, and added one onto his first home. He also extended his back porch by laying the brick himself. Over the years, he completed countless projects, including building a gazebo and a workshop, always with care, patience, and pride in doing things the right way.
Fred had a deep love for life and the arts. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, and playing the piano, and was known for his love of singing and dancing. He was also an entertainer for 25 years, sharing his talent as a piano player and bringing joy to countless people through music. Music was always close to his heart, especially the songs of Elvis Presley and Tom Jones, among many others.
An avid traveler and cruise enthusiast, Fred loved seeing the world and creating memories wherever he went. Above all else, he loved his family and friends deeply, forming meaningful connections and leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived with passion, curiosity, and an open heart, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
