I was not a real close friend of George, but what stands out to me about George is regardless if I ran into him at a Ravens football game or seeing him on my walks in the Golden Tree neighborhood or planning KHS 1970 reunions I was always struck by his remarkable welcoming smile and his eagerness to listen and willingness to help others.  RIP my friend. 🙏

George was more like family than just a good friend! We grew up in Hawthorne . We both delivered the News American . We worked at GM together & at Allison !! I was looking  for a house he says Top why don't you buy my parents house so I did. George was always calling to check to see how I was doing. Meet me here for lunch. Down OC I having breakfast here. I miss my brother, but I know he is in a better place!!!Thanks for all the great memories!! God Bless you & Donna

I’ve known George for a long time. I remember when our mothers used to bowl together and go over to Bakers Tavern after bowling. You were the organizers of many gatherings throughout the years. You  will be greatly missed.  RIP George

To Ashley and the Bell Family:
There are not enough words to express how heartbroken we are over the passing of your Mom and Dad.  George was a lifelong friend since childhood and we shared so many happy memories.  When we were teens, he’d come and get me for a Sunday drive on his motorcycle always stopping at Baker’s for a beef sandwich and we would talk for hours.  There was ice skating at Pine Hill, Bengie’s Drive In and boat rides with my Dad.  He was always a part of the family gatherings and as we got older and raised our own families, we never lost touch.  The last time we saw each other, he called and wanted to see the Bateman train garden. He also grew up with my husband George and loved the tradition of seeing the garden at Christmas. He stayed for hours and we caught up on life.  He hugged us both when he left and said I love you and that’s the best Memory we both will cherish.    Ashley, your Mom and Dad adored you and we pray you will find peace and comfort in knowing how wonderful they were.  Deb and George Bateman

My sincere condolences to Ashley and the entire family. I met George and Donna when I married his cousin the other George  Bell, best known as Bunky to the family. George was the rock of the Bell family always taking care of others.  I know he loved the Ravens and would visit us when the Raven's Roost gathered in Ocean City. He was loved by all and will be missed. RIP George.

My heart is saddened by George's passing.  He was a well known member of Kenwood High School Class of 1970.  For decades he devoted his time toward keeping our classmates in touch with each other through reunions and other events.  I will forever remember him as a true gentleman filled with kindness and love for others.  George truly will be missed by many. 🙏🏼

George took care of people., he took care of us! When we moved from PA to MD, he located a new condo for us. The next day he stopped by & installed wire shelves throughout the closets to give us more storage space. 9 years later, we moved from Bel Air to Parkville - Oak Crest.  George showed up with his SUV, loaded it up with our packed boxes, then unloaded them at Oak Crest.  It was all done with a happy heart & a smile on his face! George, I will miss you so so much.  No more suffering and you are with the love of your life.
