On December 20, 2017, George Steven, Welkie, Sr., beloved husband of the late Mary Welkie (nee Poreca); devoted father of George Welkie and his wife Cindy, Paul Welkie and his wife Barb, and Andy Welkie and his wife Marcy; loving grandfather of Paul Eric Welkie, Candice Naugle and her husband Bob, Andrew, Allison, Jenna, and Jonah Welkie; dear great-grandfather of Emily, and PJ Welkie.
